When
I was young I didn’t know I had any talent for singing. I was in
the grade school choir because you had no choice, they said it’s
time for music and you sang. In Junior High you got to choose your
electives. I continued singing in choir because I enjoyed it but I had
no aspirations. Then, my first year in High
School, the director of the “Boy’s Glee Club” came up
to me, without warning, and said, “You’re going to sing a
solo at Regional Competition this Spring.” I thought he was
certifiably crazy but he started working with me and helped me discover
not only a voice but a love for music which continues to this day.
Many times others see talent or abilities in a person when that person
is blind to them. When we see unused talents we might think people are
ignoring the talents but it may be they just don’t realize they
have them. Maybe you can be the one who tells a person you would love
to hear them sing or play the piano or speak, or teach, etc., because
you are sure they would be good at it. Maybe you can help them discover
a talent that will change their life in a positive way and allow them
to share the gift God has given them. David |
