Constitution

Article I

Name

The name of this organization shall be the Muhlenberg South High School Physics and Astronomy
Club.


Article II

Purpose

The MSHSPAC is designed to promote the active interest and learning in the fields of physics
and astronomy.


Article III

Membership

MSHSPAC membership shall be comprised of MSHS students grades 9-12 who desire to
learn more about their universe. Active membership is required, which entails attending
meetings, and participating in club activities.


Article IV

Officers & Duties

The officers of the MSHSPAC shall be: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and
Reporter.

The Executive Council shall be comprised of all MSHSPAC officers and sponsors.

The duties of the President shall be to preside over all meetings, to appoint committees, to
represent the organization when needed, and to administer policies as set by the constitution
and by-laws.

The duties of the Vice President shall be to preside in the absence of the President, and to
assist in the administration of committees.

The duties of the Secretary shall be to take minutes of all meetings and to maintain
membership rolls.

The duties of the Treasurer shall be to keep the records of all financial matters in the club
and to report a monthly statement of the MSHSPAC accounts to the executive council.


Article V

Criteria for Officers

To be considered for office, candidates must be members in good standing, be in grades
10-12, and maintain an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher. Candidates are limited to 2 days
of ISS or less from the preceding year to be nominated. The sponsor(s) shall check all
criteria prior to any election.


Article VI

Elections

Each member in good standing shall have one vote per office election. Nominations for
office shall be given to the club sponsor(s) ONE MONTH prior to the election. Elections will
be held by secret ballot and counted immediately. The officers will be chosen by a simple
majority of votes cast.
