Star Gazing Party 2000

The club conducted its first "Star" Party on April 18, 2000. We chose this day because of the full moon to allow everyone present a large, bright target to observe. The meeting started at 7:00 with pizza and other astronomy snacks (Mars bars, Milkey Ways, worm holes, etc), the moon made its appearance about 45 minutes later and most of the students there saw the moon for the first time through a telescope. The club sponsored a Draw the Moon Contest with a cash prize going to Amy Thomason for her representation of the moon. About 8:30 our focus shifted to other objects like Orion, Polaris, the Big Dipper, the Little Dipper, Betelgeuse, etc. The club would like to thank everyone that showed up for the party.

Space and Rocket Museum Trip
