The Physics and Astronomy Club’s Executive Council consists of four officers and three advisers. We have filled the five offices with very capable students, as shown below:

President

Paul Van Meter is serving as the Physics and Astronomy Club President. Paul is active other organizations, including the Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Industrial Technology. He wishes to further the understanding and fun of physics throughout his term of presiding over the club.

Vice President

This year in the Physics and Astronomy Club, Marjorie Adams is looking forward to letting people know that physics can be fun, and that it is not just a required course. She is active in the Beta Club and Industrial Technology.

Secretary/Treasurer

Wally Braem, a senior at South, is serving as our Physics and Astronomy Club Secretary/Treasurer. Other than the P & A Club, he is in marching band, ROTC (Drill Team, Color Guard, Raiders, and Oreinteer Team), Campus Life Student Leaders, and FCA. Also Wally is a member of the community theatre.

Reporter

Our reporter this year is Ashley Wint. A senior at MSHS, Suzanne is active in many clubs, including Beta Club, the Co-Ed Y Club, NHS, the academic team, the tennis team, and the dance team. In her spare time, she talks on the phone and plays tennis. Suzanne says she hopes to make the rest of our school aware of how interesting physics and all the sciences are.

The P & A Club has three wonderful sponsors that work to make things happen in the club.

Mr. Allen Hunley teaches Physics I, Accelerated Physics I, Accererated Physics II, Chemistry I, and Algebra. He has taught at MSHS since it's consolidation in 1991.

Mr. Walter Silvey teaches Physics I, Chemistry I, Accelerated Chemistry I, Chemistry II, and Earth Science. He has taught at South for 8 years.

Mr. Carlos Tatum teaches Accelerated Biology I, Biology I, and Biology II. He has also taught at South since 1991.
